"Apacheta" by Cristián Mohaded
On the occasion of Milano Design Week, Loro Piana presents ‘Apacheta’, three site-specific installations by Argentinian artist and designer Cristián Mohaded. Inspired by traditional rock piles found in the Andean Mountains as trail markers and ritualistic offerings to Mother Earth, the art installations magnify this topography with large towers, emerging from the ground, covered in repurposed Loro Piana Interiors fabrics. The collaboration breeds from a shared passion for materials and craftsmanship, as well as Argentina, land where Mohaded was born and where Loro Piana sources the most precious and rarest of the natural fibres: Vicuña. The installations will be on show at the Loro Piana Headquarter, in via della Moscova, 33 within the Brera Design District, in Piazzetta Brera and in the courtyard of the Loro Piana Montenapoleone store.
